Quick Answer
Yuntuo can arrange furniture shipping from China by FCL or LCL sea freight. Most furniture moves in one of two ways: Supplier Direct Shipping - collected straight from your supplier and booked to the container - or Optional Warehouse Consolidation, where pieces from several suppliers are gathered at our China warehouse before export. Consolidation is optional; furniture is not required to pass through a warehouse first. Door-to-door DDP is available for selected confirmed destinations and reviewed per shipment; for other destinations clearance, duties, taxes and delivery responsibilities are confirmed per shipment based on the agreed shipping terms. Every quotation is confirmed per shipment from the measured cargo, route and schedule - we do not publish fixed rates.
We handle commercial furniture cargo across these categories. Each piece is reviewed against the actual channel using its size, weight and packaging.
Large-volume, lighter-weight soft furniture. Needs careful compression protection and moisture control in transit.
Beds often ship knocked-down; mattresses are light and bulky, so packing and compression are reviewed per piece.
Glass, stone or marble tops are fragile and need protective crating; chairs stack efficiently and suit LCL or FCL.
Large pieces, often with glass doors; knocked-down packing improves container loading versus assembled shipping.
Desks, chairs, workstations and storage. Flat-pack and metal-frame pieces load efficiently.
Contract furniture shipments with mixed categories and tight schedules; planned container loading is the key to a clean delivery.
Mid-volume cartons; declaration and HS classification are reviewed per shipment.
The most space-efficient format; container fill rate drives the per-piece cost, so packing method matters.
Metal, rattan and solid-wood pieces; wood packaging and destination compliance are checked per route.
We do not handle vehicles, flat-rack or break-bulk project heavy-lift cargo. For very large single pieces that exceed standard FCL/LCL handling, see our oversized and bulky cargo shipping service, reviewed case by case.
Two ways to move furniture by sea. The right one depends on your volume, suppliers, timeline and budget - not a fixed size rule.
One container is yours alone. Best for a full load or large volume where dedicating a container is economical, with less handling and a simpler chain.
Your furniture shares a container with other cargo. Best for smaller volumes or furniture gathered from several suppliers that consolidate into one shipment.
Available for samples or small urgent pieces. Higher cost per kg; sea remains the standard for full furniture shipments. See air freight.
We compare FCL and LCL per shipment using cargo dimensions, volume, gross weight, packaging, destination, schedule and actual channel costs. We do not publish a single CBM threshold or a fixed price - the quotation is built from your specific cargo. For the standard sea service itself, see sea freight.
Much of the world's furniture is made across Foshan, Guangdong and neighbouring manufacturing regions. We can arrange pickup from your suppliers there and in other origins.
Pickup is arranged per shipment and confirmed when we review your supplier address, cargo and timing. We coordinate collection across Foshan, Guangdong and other manufacturing regions where the route supports it; we do not claim a Foshan-owned warehouse, office or dedicated fleet - arrangements are confirmed for each shipment.
Buying from several factories? We can bring the furniture together into one shipment instead of several.
Consolidation is optional - not every furniture shipment must pass through the warehouse first. It is arranged per shipment and confirmed when we review your supplier list and volumes. See also our warehousing & consolidation service, and the guide to consolidating shipments from multiple suppliers.
Furniture is prepared for export at our China warehouse to reduce handling and packaging risks. The checks we perform are listed below.
Goods are logged in when they arrive from your suppliers.
Piece and carton quantities are checked against the packing list.
External packaging is inspected for export suitability before loading.
Shipping marks are verified so the consolidated cargo is identifiable in transit.
Photos are taken when arranged with you, as a record of receiving and packing.
Export cartons with corner protection and stretch wrap; palletizing and wrapping; knocked-down packing to improve loading.
Keep three things separate: the furniture product (for example a wooden chair), the solid wood transport packaging (pallets, crates, dunnage), and the product's import compliance at destination. ISPM 15 applies to solid wood transport packaging for most destinations and requires heat treatment or fumigation with an IPPC mark; it is not the same as treating the furniture product. Solid wood furniture is not automatically fumigated - whether treatment is needed depends on the packaging used and the destination's rules. Whether ISPM 15 treatment is required is confirmed per shipment from the solid wood transport packaging used and the destination's import rules. Where treatment applies, the required method (heat treatment or fumigation) is arranged and documented with an IPPC mark before export. We do not issue the treatment certificate ourselves. Destination product rules (such as upholstered-furniture flammability or wood-product declarations) vary by country, so confirm the latest official requirements for your product and destination per shipment.
Glass and stone tabletops are fragile and need protective crating - tell us about the piece and we will advise the packing method, confirmed per shipment. For background on cutting volume and freight cost, see repacking in China.
Furniture ships by FCL or LCL to many ports. Door-to-door DDP is available for selected confirmed destinations.

Costs are built per shipment. The main factors we weigh when quoting:
We do not publish fixed prices. Send your cargo details and we will prepare a per-shipment quotation.
Send what you have - you can add details later. The more we know, the more accurate the quotation.
