Air freight is the carriage of your cargo by aircraft from a Chinese airport to a destination airport or, on a door-to-door arrangement, to your final address. It is normally the fastest way to move goods and the most expensive per kilogram. Yuntuo is a Shenzhen-based freight forwarder: we collect from your suppliers, consolidate at our warehouse in Shenzhen, book the flight, and can coordinate clearance and delivery.

Air freight suits cargo that is needed quickly and is light or valuable enough for a per-kilogram rate to make sense. Sea freight is usually the cheaper way to move volume; air is usually the faster way to move a deadline.
When you need goods urgently for retail, production or customer delivery deadlines.
For expensive goods where faster delivery reduces insurance risk and storage costs.
For new product releases, trade shows or seasonal merchandise requiring fast replenishment.
For lighter cargo where air freight cost is reasonable relative to value and speed.
Neither mode is cheaper in every case. The answer depends on volume, deadline and what the cargo is.

The physical weight of your cargo measured in kg or lbs. This is the actual scale weight of the packaged goods.
Calculated from the dimensions of each package: length × width × height (cm) ÷ 6,000 for general air cargo. Air carriers charge on whichever is greater. Some services use a different divisor, so the divisor applied to your shipment is confirmed with the quotation.
Worked example: a carton measuring 60 × 50 × 40 cm measures 120,000 cubic centimetres. Divided by 6,000 that is 20 kg of volumetric weight. If the same carton weighs 12 kg on the scale, the shipment is charged on 20 kg. This illustrates the calculation; it is not a rate.
Chargeable weight is normally based on whichever is greater — actual weight or volumetric weight.

The shipment moves through six stages: factory pickup, China handling at our warehouse, airport export and customs documentation, air transit, import customs at destination, and final delivery. Airport-to-airport means the service ends when the cargo lands; door-to-door adds clearance and the delivery leg.

Air freight is charged on weight rather than volume, and the rate per kilogram is only part of the total. Every figure is quoted for the specific shipment. These are the charges that affect the cost, and what moves them.
To quote we need the supplier's city or the full pickup address; the destination airport or the full delivery address with postcode; a description of the cargo; the number of cartons, pallets or crates with the dimensions and gross weight of each; whether the cargo contains batteries, liquids, powders or magnets; the service level you want; the Incoterm you are buying on; and the date the cargo will be ready.
Approximate carton sizes are enough to start: air freight is charged on the greater of weight and volumetric weight, so dimensions change the figure as much as the scale does.
